8 CANDIDATES WILL RECEIVE FINANCING THANKS TO YOUR DONATIONS
We received 56 applications following our call for research project on cerebral palsy launched in February 2010. La Fondation Motrice boad of directors, with the advice of its Scientific Committee, met on July 6th and selected 8 projects that will be funded by La Fondation in 2010 or 2011.
MOTRICITY
* Eric Desailly, Fondation Ellen Poidatz, St Fargeau-Ponthierry : validation of a tool to assist in the decision to use surgery to elongate retracted muscles.
* Sabine Meunier, Inserm/La Pitié Salpêtrière hospital, Paris : study of cerebellum role in uncontrolled muscles spasms.
BRAIN INJURY IN NEWBORNS
* Vincent Laudenbach, CHU Rouen : research on the role of pain killers on brain injuries in newborns.
* Stéphane Sizonenko, Hôpital universitaire, Geneva : research on the role of lactoferin found in maternal milk , to protect the premature baby’s brain.
PSYCHOLOGY/SOCIAL RELATIONSHIP
* Marie-Josèphe Saurel-Cubizolle, Inserm Paris : study of social consequences for families with very premature CP children aged between 5 and 8 (follow-up of EPIPAGE study).
INDIVIDUAL CASES
*Olivier Remy-Neris, CHU Brest : creation an observatory of socio-medical care for children and adults with cerebral palsy.

* Alim-Louis Benabid, CEA, Grenoble : developing brain-machine interfaces to restore motor functions
* Francesca Cecchi, Pontedera, Italy : developing electronic captor equipped toys to assess babies’ hands motor function disorders
